Fifteen Years

Fifteen years! Our marriage is now officially capable of driving (albeit with a learner’s permit). I feel as though I have changed so much since we walked down the aisle, and any growth for the better is ALL due to your influence and encouragement. Almost like my life has turned into a science fiction story, and I am a whole new person.

I like to think that I've grown in ways that make me a better partner too in the past 15 years. I am still too stubborn, prideful, and ridiculous by half, for which I am always in your debt for your patience. I hope that my sense of stability (stick in the mud) and incredible predictability are an asset to you in some way, shape, or form as you make it through life.

I know that 2011 George could not have done the half-bath remodel we recently undertook nor many other things that I have done since you came into my life. You have inspired me to want to better and feel like I can do better.

You are more and more amazing everyday!

Love,

George

Thirteen Years

While 13 may be an ominous number for some I consider myself especially lucky to have married you 13 years ago! Counting you as my partner on this adventure we call life brings everything into focus and has been the highlight to

This past year has brought milestones (with more to come) and our adventure keeps improving. In this glorious life, I am SO happy to walk next to you!

Your smile lights up my soul and your laugh casts away the darkness. I am yours body, mind, and soul to the end.

Twelve Years

Happy Anniversary Karen! I love you more than I thought I could possibly love another person, and my love grows deeper every day. I wake up every day feeling blessed to know you and excited to learn from you. You make me laugh and think like no other and there is nothing I cherish more than being able to build a life with you every day.

If you had asked me when we met about where we would be in 12 years I couldn't have imagined my life where I am today! I especially could not have imagined how my life has been expanded and built upon through knowing you and seeing your view on the world. I am a better person for knowing you and am excited to grow further in the years to come! This is the best adventure I could have imagined.

Eleven Years

Happy Anniversay my love!  I learn so much for you everyday and I can honestly say I would not be who I am without your love, support, and laughter. There is so much going on in the world that I (we) cannot control though our partnership gives me strength every single day.

I especially cherish the laughter. I don't know how many times that I have been going about my day, and they you say somthing insightfully funny (snarky) and I have stop walking as I can't walk due to laughing so hard. Our partnership has made me see so much about myself, which has been amazing though sheer amount of laughter you've brought to into my life is like trying to measure the light from the sun; pure radiance.

Thank you for another year. I cherish you and cherish our time on this spinning rock wandering around the Sun.

Happy Anniversary Karen!

The last decade has been the best in my life. 10 years worth of laughter, nerdy jokes, and building our life together.

I look forward to decades more learning, loving, and laughter together.  You are the best person  and smartest person I know in the world. I love you endlessly and learn something new from you everyday, which makes life a complete joy.

Thank you!

Nine Years

Happy Anniversary my dear. This is not a normal year so far. Down is up and up is down with everything. This is something not experienced in our lifetime yet it does bring parts of life into clear focus. Standing next to you at the alter nine years ago is the best decision I've made in my life. It has been my joy and privilege to stand with you these past nine years. I love you with all my heart and I can't imagine my life without you. Thank you for everything and I know that I treasure you with every fiber in my being.

Eight Years

The way I listen to music is that I hear a song and then I get is stuck in my head for a while. During that time I think about this song constantly and obsess over that song. I play the song constantly whenever I have a free moment (and thanks to being a spreadsheet monkey for a living that includes work too) and song becomes my anthem. For the past 48 hours, I have been playing Stand by Me as my latest musical obsession and I find myself drawn more than ever to the words:

“No I won’t be afraid, no I won’t be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me ”

I have been thinking about it as today marks the eight year anniversary for Karen and I walking down the aisle. Life can be scary and I couldn’t have asked for a better someone to stare into the unknown life brings. We have stood together these past eight years and I could not imagine being where I am today without her in my life. I would not have the career I have without her nor the amazing family nor would my life be a full or joyous. She makes me want to try harder to be better and pick myself up when I fall down. Thank you Karen for being in my life and sharing the journey together. I love you.

Seven Years

Happy Anniversary Karen! Thank you for another spin around the sun in this life. I can't imagine a better partner and person in my life. I especially appreciate your sense of humor, which make me laugh regularly and I find that humor can always lighten up the bumps life throws in your way. In all ways you are my match and you are the love of my life. You're simply the best person I know and my best friend. Thank you for everything and I want you to know that I am truly happy in a way that I could never have imagined before meeting you! I will love you forever and always.

Six Years

Sand Title
There is power behind the years you're married.  You want someone who sees you on your worst day; when you're tired, frustrated, and otherwise put upon when life pushes back against your best self yet they still see who you all through all the noise. Each passing year, month, and day togethers adds to your collective experience that helps you answer the question "Who was that guy in the movie with the girl and thing..." when your partner asks and also helps you survive those days when you struggle to be the person want to be.

Happy Anniversary Karen. Thank you for being there for me when I am not my best and when life pushes back. I learn so much from you everyday; how to be strong, laugh, love, and otherwise make my way in the world. I am so proud of you and am loving growing (old lately) with you! Thank you for another year.

Five Years

This anniversary brings us to the five year mark for our partnership. I have learned much in the last 5 years that has changed my life and frankly made me a better person. My wedding day is the best day of my life. It's probably because of this my wife says I am one of the most pro marriage people she has ever met. I am huge fan of marriage (though I am not saying everyone needs to get married; you do you) and l love being married.

Prior to marrying someone you have a persona that you project to the world and also reflect back to yourself.  This persona is often your best self or has those endearingly quirky qualities that make romantic comedies so adorable. However, sharing your life with someone brings those visions into abrupt collision with realty as any persona won't last thru a partnership. My wife has embraced me for who I am (faults and all) and has made me better know myself and also reframes how I look at the world.  You only get so many trips around the sun and there is no point in being with someone who doesn't know and love you true self. Happy anniversary my love. Please know that I will love you forever with every atom in my being.

Love,

George

Four Years

This past year has been amazing! Filled with new experienced, challenges, and impressions of years to come. I can't imagine a better partner to have shared these experiences with than my wife. She is the kindest, smartest, most amazing person that I know. Everyday I see how lucky I am to have her in my life.

Happy Anniversary my dear. Thank you for making my life make sense as without you I would be lost and alone in the wilderness. I love you from the bottom of my heart to the edge of the univserse and beyond.

Love,

George
