This anniversary brings us to the five year mark for our partnership. I have learned much in the last 5 years that has changed my life and frankly made me a better person. My wedding day is the best day of my life. It's probably because of this my wife says I am one of the most pro marriage people she has ever met. I am huge fan of marriage (though I am not saying everyone needs to get married; you do you) and l love being married.
Prior to marrying someone you have a persona that you project to the world and also reflect back to yourself. This persona is often your best self or has those endearingly quirky qualities that make romantic comedies so adorable. However, sharing your life with someone brings those visions into abrupt collision with realty as any persona won't last thru a partnership. My wife has embraced me for who I am (faults and all) and has made me better know myself and also reframes how I look at the world. You only get so many trips around the sun and there is no point in being with someone who doesn't know and love you true self. Happy anniversary my love.
